Polyhedra are more than table-top gaming dice or a subject for geometry classes! They can be interesting designs in their own right, and with printing or cutting away of patterns on the faces, you can get unique objects for putting on your shelf or using as shadow-casting light holders.
If you want to make these out of paper, use the "With Tabs" versions and use the folding line to score or crease them before assembly. If you're laser-cutting these and gluing or welding the resultant shapes, you will want use the "No Tabs" versions (and cut on the fold lines too).
